Road-Plan-with-Property-OutlinedDetails of a major economic development in the Lowcountry will be announced on Friday, according to North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey.

City and business leaders have not discussed “Project Unicorn” openly, with many citing confidentiality agreements. But during a City Council meeting on Thursday, Summey said a newly approved road is related to the project.

City Council unanimously approved an agreement between the city and Weber USA Corp. to build Weber Industrial Drive in North Charleston. The new road will extend from the intersection of Future Drive at Palmetto Commerce Parkway to Patriot Boulevard, according to City Council documents (.pdf)….
